Just outside Pattaya is Underwater World. This walkthru aquarium has many exotic fish. The showcase of Underwater World begins at the shallow "Touch Pool" area which allows visitors to see and interact with underwater lives such as sharks, stingrays, turtles, starfishes, seahorses, many species of fishes, seaweeds, colored corals, small creatures, etc. Then visitors proceed down the state-of-the-art acrylic underwater tunnel which is divided into 3 zones. The first part is themed "Reef Zone" featuring coral reef. Next is "Sharks and Rays Zone" showcasing sharks, sting rays and other creatures from the depth of the sea. The last is "Shipwrecks Zone" featuring various kinds of fish which are edible. |

Two man-made lakes and more than 500 acres of exquisitely manicured gardens, including gardens dedicated to bonsai, cactus, palms and bromeliads, and a hothouse for orchids and ferns. Shows three times a day at the Thai Cultural Center feature martial arts, indigenous sports, hill tribe music and dance, a Thai wedding ceremony, a Buddhist ordination ceremony, and performances by trained elephants. At the small zoo you can have your picture taken with a baby tiger, elephant, chimpanzee or parrot, and there is also a small exhibition of Thai antiques. It is located about 15 km from Pattaya. |
